We all experience tumultuous emotions. What do you do during these times?
Music, for me, has always had a strong healing power. Sometimes I’m more drawn to super sad, depressing jams just to really allow myself to sit in those feelings. The Scientist by Coldplay is a superdepressing one for me. Other times I use it to empower myself, as a reminder of who I am and what I value.
Sarah McLachlan’s Angel has such a quiet, soothing reflective tone. I guess most of her music does, eh???
Diana Ross’ If We Hold On Together hails back from when I first watched Land Before Time and sat in front of the VCR writing down the lyrics (yes, this was before internet). So soulfully inspiring.
Mariah Carey’s Can’t Take That Away reminds me of when I first dabbled in Christianity and felt some judgment from people in that community who turned out to be friends afterwards.

Currently I’m listening to Our Lady Peace’s Are You Sad. Brings back so many memories of high school and waiting in line for tickets and going to their free concert offered by BEST BUY!!!
Ooo a new addition – very different vibe from all the others – is by Libera, Song of Life. It sounds like angels singing. 🙂 Very soothing and beautiful.
Reading also does this for me. A new favourite for me is the Tao Te Ching. I find myself often reaching and grasping for answers, things to do. These may not be done in wisdom. The Tao reminds me to just sit, and be gentle. Be the way of nature and all will flow.
