I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting in the past few months. Some of the books touch upon the idea of a soul’s purpose. These come from a variety of authors (Wayne Dyer, Lissa Rankin, etc.) What IS our soul’s purpose? And how do we discover it? These are the questions the books delve into. Currently i am reading one by Janet Amare (thanks for the share, Vivek!). I think the Universe really wants me to figure this out! haha.. given the frequency it appears in different forms from blog posts to the inner pullings of my heart. She talks about SEMP (Spiritual, Emotional, Material, Physical), which is ironic because i saw it yesterday and wasn’t really feeling it.

Basically the books tell you to reflect and tap into your joy. From being in the Now, and being grateful, the Universe is better able to speak to us, and we can then tap into our Inner Pilot Light.

Looking back at my childhood, i can now see so many signs that the Universe has always been there. Given the frailty of my memory, the vividness of some memories really stand out to me as the Universe guiding me, speaking to me:

• Land before Time – i remember sitting in front of the TV @ 28 Hollywood, while mom was in the kitchen, copying out the lyrics of Diana Ross’ “If We Hold On Together”; this was back in the day of VHS, so i would press play, listen, copy the few words i could catch, rewind, then play again. I’m so grateful to have this song in my memory for when i need inspiration
• The Lord’s Prayer – i remember making a conscious effort to memorize this, even though i wasn’t religious
• Prayer of St. Francis
• Desiderata
• 1 Corinthians 13
• I started compiling my first book of quotes when i was 12 or 13.. i still remember the bright yellow notebook that i kept until the recent garage purge!
